Halloween Review 2001!
All the businesses at the HEB shopping center in Bulverde sponsored the first annual safe trick-or-treat night for adults and children. Everyone was surprised at the turn out for this event. The parking lot was full. Estimates say that there was at least 600 kids trick-or-treating at the center. All of the businesses including HEB handed out candy to the kids. There was a haunted house and two costume contest one of which had a $25.00 cash prize for the winner. Pictures of the event and the costume contest winners can be seen at Sun Time Professional Tanning Salon. Many of the parents were happy to be able to take their children somewhere locally for safe trick-or-treating. Kathleen Shields of MailBoxes Etc. says, “I believe that the entire event was a success. Since the malls have stopped doing safe trick or treating, the kids really need a place to go, and this is local. Were looking forward to next year being bigger and better.” Renita Rabozzi owner of RavenHome Gifts says, “We were astounded and thrilled with the participation of the community. We are very pleased that we as a center can offer safety and fun to our customers. Personally we must all thank Lelsye at Sun Time for thinking this up, setting this up and helping us all follow through. She is my hero. We look forward to bigger and better events in the future.” |
