MEMBER OF THE MONTH JULY 2005Cristal Garrett, owner of “Cristal's” Boutique Previously named JaZ It Up! Cristal feels very fortunate to be a business owner in the Bulverde/Spring Branch area. She is grateful that her peers have honored her with being chosen as the member of the month for the Bulverde Spring Branch Area Chamber of Commerce. Cristal opened “JaZ It Up!” in October 2003. Originally it was an online store with a small storefront that was open a few days a week. She recognized that there was a real need for a boutique in this area, so in June 2004, she moved her shop into a larger space. “Every month has gotten better and better. I’m so excited that the community has welcomed my shop”, says Cristal. This past June, Cristal ventured out once again. She purchased an existing boutique in Sattler called “Canyon Blues”. Cristal is married to Mark Garrett, and between them they have five children. This past year, her oldest son, Zack, introduced her to two young men that are residents at St. Jude’s Ranch for Children. She was so impressed with the boys and the facility that she has made an effort to help bring more awareness about St. Jude’s to our community. She began this year by holding a donation drive the week of Easter to gather items that St. Jude’s may need. This will be an annual event at her stores. She was a tremendous help with the latest endeavor by the Sassy Seniors Style Show by providing outfits for the ladies. We know that they appreciate her generous donation of time and energy in this project to help raise money for the Senior facility in our area. Thank you Cristal for all you have done for the community.
